Here at the Jennie Edmundson Foundation we typically designate the last Friday in May as a time of remembrance when we host a Celebration of Life service to honor staff and volunteers who passed through the year. It was a snowy morning in January, but the sun was shining bright on the fifth floor of Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital as plans for the $10.75 million renovation where announced. The renovation of the fifth floor will significantly expand the hospital's women's services offerings to residents of Council Bluffs, southwest Iowa and south Omaha.

Susan G. Komen Greater Iowa has awarded $90,823 in grant dollars, which will be used to provide financial assistance for breast cancer screenings, diagnostic services, support, case management and survivorship care.
